"The power of the KitchenAid Professional 600 is great! I can't ever imagine needing the 10 setting. Number 6 is high enough for what I do. I upgraded from a 4 quart KitchenAid and I was not prepared for the size increase, but I quickly adjusted since it mixes so fast. The sound is a little different to my old KitchenAid but I wouldn't say that it bothers me. As it mixes so fast, it isn't on that long anyway and since it's more powerful, I would expect the KitchenAid Professional to be a little louder. I got one for my daughter as well and she's thrilled with it. Since KitchenAid also has a wonderful return policy, I wouldn't ever hesitate to buy from them. They are a wonderful company with a wonderful product."
